Highlights
  • Enzan Wine
Founded in 1957 by a local fruit growers' cooperative, Enzan Wine uses only Yamanashi-grown grapes from its own vineyards and local contract farmers. Its flagship, Koshu Shigegawa, is made from Koshu grapes grown along the Shigegawa River. It has notes of pear and Japanese citrus, with crisp acidity.
  • Kai Winery
Founded as a sake brewery in 1834, Kai Winery is one of Koshu City's most historic. Four of its buildings are registered Tangible Cultural Properties, which give it the feel of an old sake brewery. Its signature Kazama Koshu, made from Yamanashi's native Koshu grape, is clean, crisp and well balanced.
  • Okunota Winery
A small winery in Enzan, Yamanashi that grows its own grapes on a 1.5-hectare estate. It uses only ripe, high-sugar local grapes to make mineral-rich wines that express the local terroir.
