The Koga Peach Blossom Festival traces its origins back to the Edo period, when the feudal lord of the Koga Domain, Toshikatsu Doi, encouraged the planting of peach trees throughout the region. At Koga Public Park, approximately 1,800 flowering peach trees of six varieties—Yaguchi, Juseito, Genpei, Kikuto, Kanpaku, and Terute—burst into bloom. During the season, the peach groves are transformed into a breathtaking landscape dyed in vivid shades of pink.

A special highlight of this trip is the opportunity to enjoy “Royal Queen,” a new premium strawberry variety from Tochigi Prefecture. Cultivation is permitted only to a limited number of farmers within the prefecture, making this a truly rare delicacy. With its firm flesh, refined sweetness, and elegant aroma, Royal Queen lives up to its regal name. However, due to growing conditions and crop availability, it may be difficult to consistently offer this variety for all-you-can-eat strawberry picking. Therefore, to ensure that all Tama-Tabi guests can savor its exceptional flavor, we will provide Royal Queen strawberries as a special take-home souvenir.

For lunch, we will dine at Aburaya, a well-regarded Japanese restaurant in Tatebayashi. Guests will enjoy a Kamameshi Gozen, featuring freshly cooked rice prepared in a traditional iron pot. The moment the lid is lifted, fragrant steam rises, revealing rice infused with the natural umami of carefully selected ingredients. Comforting and nostalgic, this satisfying meal provides the perfect balance to conclude a day filled with sweetness.
