Mito played a major role in the turbulent times from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji Restoration.

幕末の剣術「北辰一刀流」の勇壮な演武を見学する See a spectacular demonstration of the late Edo period swordsmanship "Hokushin Ittō-ryū"

幕末の剣豪、千葉周作が創始した「北辰一刀流」。坂本龍馬が剣の腕を磨いたことでも知られます。 Hokushin Itto-ryu was founded by Chiba Shusaku, a master swordsman from the end of the Edo period. It is also known as the place where Sakamoto Ryoma honed his sword skills.

昼食は、水戸で創業百余年の歴史を持つ懐石料理店で、粋を極めた水戸芸妓の舞を鑑賞いただく特別なお席をご用意しました。 For lunch, we will have special seating at a kaiseki restaurant in Mito that has been in business for over 100 years, where you can enjoy the exquisite dancing of Mito geisha.
