    This is an old shrine in Tsukuba City. Mount Tsukuba has been worshipped as a "divine mountain" since ancient times. Its summit is divided into two peaks, one to the east and one to the west, and it is said that the deities enshrined at Tsukuba-san Shrine, Tsukuba O-okami and Tsukubame O-okami, reside there. It has long been a center of mountain worship, attracting many worshippers, and is crowded with people during the autumn foliage season.
